Peacae Recorder runs in your browser and as a native Mac and Windows app. Both are private and local-first, but they store recordings differently — browser videos stay in IndexedDB on this device, while the desktop app saves .webm files to a folder you choose.

Peacae Recorder is optimized for Chromium browsers. Chrome, Edge, Brave, and Opera provide the most complete experience. Firefox uses a compatibility fallback and some capture features may vary. Safari support is limited, especially for system audio, codecs, and screen capture behavior.

Record your full screen, a single browser tab, or your webcam. Add microphone and system audio, mark chapters while you record, and optionally show a presenter bubble in the corner. When you finish, play recordings back, rename them, download WebM files, or delete them — all without leaving the browser.
Peacae Recorder does not upload your videos to a server or sync them across devices. Each recording lives in the browser where you made it — this computer, this browser profile. That keeps your content private and under your control, but it also means you need to download files you want to keep long-term or use on another machine.
When you start recording, your browser captures the screen, tab, or camera you choose. Audio is mixed in if you enable the mic or system audio. When you finish, the video is encoded and stored locally. You can return to the Recordings page anytime on this same browser to manage what you have saved.
