Vertical video
Reframe OhRec landscape recordings to 9:16 in OhRec Studio for Shorts, Reels, and TikTok.
Why vertical?
Most OhRec screen recordings are landscape, but Shorts, Reels, TikTok, and Stories expect 9:16. OhRec Studio reframes content inside a vertical canvas — crop the important area, add a blurred background, and export without a separate desktop editor.
Vertical workflow
- Open the recording in Studio from the library.
- In the preview inspector, set Aspect ratio to 9:16 Vertical.
- Crop and scale so the key UI or presenter stays centered. See Crop and framing.
- Optional: set Background → Blur so letterbox areas look intentional.
- Add a short text overlay or caption for the hook in the first seconds.
- Export with the Vertical 9:16 preset from Export.
Tips for screen recordings
- Record at 1080p when you know you will crop — more pixels to work with after reframing.
- Keep critical UI away from the far edges; vertical crop removes side margins first.
- Use the presenter bubble in a corner during recording so reframing can focus on screen content.
- Preview playback before export — text near the top or bottom may be covered by platform UI.

Square and landscape
Use 1:1 Square for feed posts or 16:9 when staying landscape. The same crop and background tools apply — only the output frame changes.
Webcam-only recordings can be framed vertically during setup on the recorder home page. Screen capture remains landscape at source — Studio reframing is the primary path to vertical social clips.
